Loughton Cheder Rabbi Zvi Portnoy – 5775
At Loughton Cheder we cater for children from age 5 to 13.
Our Aim is for children to develop a love of their Jewish Identity through fun and educational activities. These often include visiting workshops and educational trips.
Whilst at Cheder your child will learn: Hebrew reading; prayers; Shabbat customs; Kashrut Laws; Jewish Festivals and Stories from the Torah. Equally importantly it is a place where they will meet other Jewish Children of similar age and build lifelong friendships.
Classes are kept small and personal, with each child being given one to one help with their reading. Classes run from 10am till 1 pm each Sunday during term time with a 20-minute break and an assembly at the end of the morning where the children all come together to reflect on their learning and hear from the Rabbi.
If you are interested in finding out more, or would like to organise for your child to come along for a trial session then please do not hesitate to get in contact with either Rabbi Zvi directly (07941 109687) or Deborah Shulton (07767 882820).
